Open Questions

QUESTION: Is your impression later than 3?

QUESTION: Which edition are velmeran's Italy rows? He prints this number at two plants, and a copy of the eleventh impression settles which stream is which: the copies printed in China by RR Donnelley, with the title and author not foiled, are the 2006 edition's — his ninth, tenth, eleventh and thirteenth. Alongside them he has a first, an eleventh and a twelfth printed in Italy by L.E.G.O. with foiled lettering. One impression split between two plants would explain a pair of elevenths; a first and a twelfth in the other stream would not. His first sits on the 1992 edition here, at GBP 18.99, which is a high price for a hardback of 1992 and an ordinary one for the 2000 reset; his Italy twelfth sits on the 2006, beside the China rows rather than with its own kind; his Italy eleventh is recorded nowhere. — of this ISBN

QUESTION: Where does the 2006 edition's run begin? It declares a first impression of 1 and the earliest anyone has seen is a ninth. If the count carries on across the three editions under this number, its first eight are the 1992 and 2000 editions'; if it begins again, they are its own and unrecorded. tolkienbooks.net says the 1992 was never reprinted and the 2000 ran to at least three, which fits either reading. — of this ISBN
