Open Questions

Do the 2012 impressions restart their numbering, or continue the 2001 run? tbn counts at least five for 2001 and at least eight for 2012 without saying whether the second set begins again at one. Recorded as beginning at one, which is a guess.

When were these ISBNs struck? They sit in 0-00-7635xx, while the boxed set's own 0-00-712401-5 is in the block HarperCollins was using in 2001. tbn shows the 0-00-763xxx block carrying editions of 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2012 alike, several of them on twelfth or fifth impressions, so the block looks like numbers assigned to reprints rather than to first printings. If so these seven were struck for a later impression and the 2001 volumes first appeared under numbers nobody has recorded.
