QUESTION: Did the 2011 paperback stay in print through the film years? It is tagged mainline and on the ordinary reading it held until the 2020 paperback replaced it, an edition keeping the line until the next one takes it. But 2012 to 2017 put five paperbacks beside it — the A- and B-format tie-ins of 2012 and 2013, and the Children’s Editions of 2012, 2013 and 2017 — and a publisher who has a film on does sometimes let the plain edition lapse. If it did lapse, one of those held the line instead and should carry the tag; if it did not, the line is already right and there is nothing to add.

QUESTION: tolkienbooks.net records a 60th Anniversary De Luxe Illustrated Edition of 1997 in a slipcase, tbn 1219, with Alan Lee’s colour and black and white illustrations and both maps on integral pages. It gives no ISBN for it and this database does not hold it. What is its number, and is it the De Luxe issue of the 1997 Alan Lee illustrated hardback already noted in HB-1990-1998.yaml as tbn 190?
